New deadline for non-teaching faculty and ECPs to upload proof of vaccination – York College/CUNY

Dear CUNY employee,

The following clarifies an email you received yesterday that contained incorrect information. We thank the President of the Professional Staff Congress, James Davis, for bringing the matter to our attention.

As I recently shared, the CUNY Board of Trustees voted on January 31 to authorize a vaccination mandate for faculty, non-teaching faculty, and employees as part of the executive compensation plan, in accordance to a public policy directive issued by Governor Hochul.

To comply with the Council’s mandate, all full-time and part-time faculty, non-teaching teaching staff (which includes but is not limited to NTAs, CLTs and those in the HEO series) and ECPs must be fully immunized against COVID-19 and upload proof of vaccination into CUNYFirst no later than April 1, 2022. Currently, we define the required number of doses for full vaccination as the two doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson, without boosters.

Additionally, as part of its resolution, the Board authorized the Chancellor to engage with the PSC on the implementation of the vaccination mandate for faculty and non-teaching teaching staff. We have begun these negotiations and will provide additional information, including regarding the request for medical and religious exemptions, as we move forward.

COVID-19 vaccines are the most reliable weapon we have to defeat this pandemic. If you have already taken the life-saving step of getting fully vaccinated, please upload your proof through CUNYfirst.
