New CBE Certificate Program Offers Training in Instructional Design
Instructional Design Firm iDesign unveiled a new competency-based training program for learning experience professionals. The certificate program, called LX Pathways, covers core instructional designer skills, such as learning theories, project management, LMS fundamentals, mentoring and support, and accessibility requirements. .
Courses in the new program are currently being piloted by students at several institutions, including Harvard Graduate School of Education. Classes will be “focused on the needs of aspiring instructional design and technology professionals,” according to a news announcement; students will receive micro-certificates as they demonstrate critical skills along their path to certification.
LX Pathways will be available on iDesign course market platform, which is powered by StructureCanvas’ learning management system. Course content will be online and self-paced, with “optional opportunities [for students] to share their work and collaborate with their peers.” The program is launching with an instructional technologist track and a learning architect track, with an accessibility specialist track to come.
More information is available on the LX Pathways website.
