Globe E-skwela will discuss instructional design in online education

The digital transformation of the county’s educational landscape has seen positive developments, despite the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although progress is gradual, teachers in basic and higher education have become more familiar with online teaching skills and tools, and learning and teaching resources have become more accessible online.

To further elevate the discourse and foster the exchange of ideas on learning technologies, Globe myBusiness is rolling out its latest E-skwela episode on June 16, Tuesday, at 10 a.m. via a live stream on the official Globe myBusiness Facebook page with the theme “Course Creation and Materials Development in the New Normal”. the E-skwela The webinar series is designed to address key concepts and instructional strategies in online instructional design that can further guide basic education teachers, higher education professionals, and faculty members on how to set up an accessible, effective and engaging e-learning program for students. The webinars also aim to help broaden the understanding of school owners, policy makers and parents on the benefits of online learning and how best to implement it remotely.

The next E-skwela will feature a panel of experts made up of teachers from the Higher School of Design and Arts of Collège De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, who will share their know-how through live demonstrations.

For the first topic, Learning Management System (LMS) Admin and Applications Associate (CIRC-EdTech), Lea Sacdalan-Abarentos will discuss the basics of Learning Experience Design. The discussion will focus on how teachers can create an interactive virtual classroom that will lead to higher engagement and learning outcomes using best practices in pedagogy and instructional design.

Next, Founding Chair of DLS-CSB’s Digital Filmmaking Program, Jag Garcia, will focus on “Digital Storytelling: Creating Stories as Content for the Online Classroom.” The session will show how schools and instructors can provide more engaging and personalized teaching content.

Globe Telecom Education Industry Lead and Learning Technology Researcher Mark Arthur Abalos also joins to facilitate the discussion and share his insights on how to position technology in maximizing learning. in line.
